Approved parent information

These operational terms publish the key enrolment conditions supplied in the centre’s parent welcome pack. The signed enrolment form and conditions agreed for an individual student remain the contractual record.

Fees and payment

Tuition starts from £37 per one-hour session. The fee and payment schedule applying to a student are confirmed on enrolment. Fees are payable directly to Kip McGrath Darlington on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Booked tuition fees are payable whether or not the student attends.

If an account falls into arrears, lessons may be suspended until it is brought up to date. Failed recurring payments may be retried, and costs associated with a dishonoured payment may be charged. Fee changes require 30 days’ notice; fees already paid in advance are not increased for the relevant paid school term.

Attendance and the annual programme

Students are booked into a regular weekly session, including school holidays, until the required notice to end tuition is received. The Darlington programme operates across the year, with a minimum of 40 weeks of in-centre or teacher-led online sessions and up to 12 weeks of online home revision sessions. The centre closes for the three half terms, two weeks at Christmas and two weeks at Easter. Specific dates are confirmed in the centre’s annual calendar.

Regular, punctual attendance and completion of assigned homework or home revision are expected. Home revision work is marked and feedback is given when the student returns to the centre.

Missed sessions and cancellations

Sessions remain payable when a student does not attend. If the centre receives at least 24 hours’ notice that a student cannot attend, it will schedule a free online “@home make-up” lesson as soon as possible. The make-up must be completed online within one week of the missed session. If that is not possible, contact the Centre Director.

Ending tuition

Two weeks’ notice is required to discontinue tuition. Fees remain payable during the notice period and for booked sessions covered by it.

Refunds

A refund may be requested using the Kip McGrath Student Refund Application form where a student can no longer attend lessons paid for in advance, or where a parent or guardian is dissatisfied with tuition already attended. Refunds are considered at the centre’s discretion and, if approved, paid to the nominated bank account. Where the original payment included a discount, lessons already taken are recalculated without that discount before the refund is determined.

Reports and communication with professionals

Written reports and statutory declarations can be requested by the parent or guardian who enrolled the student. The welcome pack lists advance charges of £100 with less than 24 hours’ notice, £65 with one to seven days’ notice, and £40 with more than seven days’ notice. Brief calls and emails to professionals are free for currently enrolled students when seven days’ notice is provided.

Changes to these terms

The enrolment conditions may be amended with 30 days’ prior notice. A parent or guardian may end the agreement if they do not accept an amendment. The signed conditions of enrolment take priority if there is any difference between them and this web version.
