Who we are

Kip McGrath Darlington is the data controller for personal information handled by the local centre. The centre is at 3 Beaumont Street, Darlington, DL1 5SZ and is Ofsted registered under number EY547790.

Information we may receive

This website does not contain a local enquiry, registration or payment form. If you contact the centre directly, we may receive the details you provide, such as a parent or guardian’s name, contact details, a child’s name, school year and information about the educational support being requested.

Assessment booking takes place on the official Kip McGrath website. Information entered there is handled under that service’s own privacy information. The hosting provider may also process basic technical logs needed to deliver and secure this website.

How information is used

  • To respond to enquiries and arrange assessments or tuition.
  • To provide and administer tuition services.
  • To communicate with parents, guardians, schools or referring organisations where appropriate.
  • To meet safeguarding, regulatory, accounting and other legal obligations.
  • To protect the security and proper operation of the website and centre.

Lawful bases

Depending on the situation, information is processed because it is needed to take steps at your request or perform a contract, meet a legal obligation, protect vital interests, pursue a legitimate interest, or because consent has been given. Where consent is the basis, it can be withdrawn.

Analytics and embedded services

Google Analytics is optional and loads only when a visitor allows anonymous analytics. Embedded Google Maps, YouTube, ReputationHub reviews and the LeadConnector chat service load only when a visitor allows external content. The official Kip McGrath assessment journey is an external link and operates under its own privacy terms.

Sharing and retention

Personal information is not sold. It may be shared with service providers, professional advisers, Kip McGrath services, schools, referring bodies or authorities where this is necessary and lawful. Information is kept only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected and to meet legal, safeguarding, insurance, accounting or regulatory requirements.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the use of your information, and to request portability. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk .
